Happy Monday and away I go. Yeah I know, I have been busy, and for the lack of updates, but today’s will be impressive, as well Wednesdays, as it is now back to my regular rotation.
Actress Tia Mowry has married her actor boyfriend Cory Hardrict in a intimate ceremony in California. The Sister, Sister star, 29, and Hardrict, 28, married in front of 170 close family and friends in Santa Barbara on Sunday, April 20. According to People.com, Mowry walked down the aisle to a live performance by R+B singer Kenny Lattimore, who sang “For You.” Now was she the hot one or the other twin the hot one. Oh never minds.
Pop stars Justin Timberlake and John Mayer paid tribute to Cameron Diaz’s late father Emilio on Saturday afternoon when they joined mourners at a memorial service in California. Emilio Diaz died suddenly last Tuesday, April 15, at age 58, after a bout of influenza developed into pneumonia. A memorial service, dubbed a Celebration of Life, was held in Mahe in Seal Beach, where attendees were urged to embrace the late Emilio’s humor and lively spirit in their dress. Wow, I guess if you date Cameron Diaz you also date her entire family. Good for them and their support.
Kelly Clarkson overcame nerves to perform for 25,000 Catholics and The Pope in New York on Saturday. The “Since U Been Gone” rocker a modest blue dress and tied her hair back into a bun to perform “Ave Maria” for Pope Benedict XVI at Saint Joseph Seminary. The religious date was the latest in the Pope’s tour of America. Clarkson admits that singing for the Pope was both a dream come true and one of her most difficult shows: “I was so excited to be asked to sing for the Pope. It’s always been a dream of mine to perform “Ave Maria.” “To have that dream come true on such a special occasion is truly a blessing.” Good for her, I bet her killer pipes sounded great doing that.
According to People.com Britney Spears will be filming another cameo for the comedy show How I Met Your Mother. Both the show and the popstar wanted to have Brit back on the show. The agreement is to bring her back for one more episode. Britney recently appeared as a secretary in a March 24 episode that got a very good response from the show and the viewers. Regulars on the show have described the star as “hilarious.” Her appearances was nothing shy of fantastic. I loved it. It is on my laptop. Well that fills my Britney quota for today.
Actor Ewan McGregor is grateful filming for his new movie Deception is now complete – because the daily sex scenes left him tired. The Scottish star had to practice then shoot the passionate scenes every day – and admits it was the toughest challenge of his career. He says, “I’d be introduced to a girl, do sex scenes with her, go back to my dressing room, have coffee, come back, then it’s ‘Hello, I’m Ewan’ to another girl, clothes off and off we go. “I’ve done my fair share of sex scenes in my career, believe me. But this was something else.” Yeah I know his pain. I feel it as well.
Country star Carrie Underwood has joined fellow American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson as a spokes model for energy drink Vitamin water. The hitmaker has secured an endorsement deal with the drinks company. Underwood, who will appear in upcoming Vitamin water commercials, insists it wasn’t difficult for her to sign up for the job – because it’s her favorite drink. She says, “I have a hectic schedule, and Vitamin water really helps to keep me going. I like to have a lot of energy on stage, and since Vitamin water energy happens to be my favorite flavor, I’m thrilled to have my name on it.” Well good for her, I love that drink. You mix it with vodka and it is fantastical.
Joel Madden has hailed his three-month-old daughter Harlow Winter as his “one and only true love.” The singer made the confession to the 1,700-strong crowd at his New York concert at Queen’s College on Wednesday, as Richie, his partner of 15 months, looked on from the side of the stage. After performing hit “Hold On (If You Feel Like Letting Go)”, he told the audience, “You know, no matter how many beautiful girls there are in this audience, I must confess that three months ago, I had a little baby girl, and she’s my one and only true love.” Madden also revealed Harlow was a big fan of British rockers The Cure and then dedicated their 1989 track “Love Song” to the tot. OMG, I totally lurve that song.
And finally, Pregnant teen Jamie Lynn Spears and her boyfriend Casey Aldridge are looking to welcome their first child in a new home – the parents-to-be are househunting in Mississippi. According to reports, the couple has already made their first offer on a three-bedroom house in the town of Liberty. Zoey 101 star Spears, who is seven months pregnant, has offered close to $300,000 for the house. It boasts a loft, marble floors, a remodelled kitchen and games room. Is it bad that a knocked up 17 year old hick has more money than me?
