Pint-sized Austin Powers star Verne Troyer is suing a celebrity website after it published footage of the star allegedly engaging in sexual acts in a home-made raunchy tape. The diminutive actor/comic has filed a $20 million lawsuit against TMZ.com, accusing the site of violating his rights by publishing and airing extracts from the film. In papers filed at a Los Angeles court, Troyer claims that TMZ.com “infringed on his copyright and trademark by running portions” after it ran parts of the tape on its site, according to the website itself. TMZ.com also claims Troyer alleges the site violated “his right to publicity and misappropriated his name and likeness.” The footage features the star and a former girlfriend at his apartment, and reportedly ended up in the hands of sex tape specialist Kevin Blatt, who brokered the deal for Paris Hilton’s infamous sex tape One Night In Paris. Well that is one sex-tape I have no desire to see.
Madonna has told Guy Ritchie she wants to end their seven-year marriage because they have drifted apart, a friend told The Daily Mirror. “They were both very calm. Madonna told Guy: ‘I’m sorry. I want a divorce.’ And he agreed. It was quite painless but very sad,” a friend told the newspaper Thursday night. Friends of Ritchie, a British filmmaker, said he is at the family’s country home in England, holding out hope that the relationship can be saved, while Madonna is in New York with their three children. “He’s a bit down in the dumps, and who can blame him. He’s off to the country to get a bit of peace and quiet,” an insider told the Mirror. Ritchie and Madonna, who reportedly don’t have a prenuptial agreement, are said to have already consulted divorce lawyers. Well at least he has a career of his own. I mean, did you not see this coming from a mile away though?
Miley Cyrus is reportedly in discussions to launch her own teen talk show. The Hannah Montana star met model-turned-TV presenter Tyra Banks during a trip to Nashville, Tennessee in May, and the pair is planning to produce a younger version of Banks’ own show. A source tells Star magazine, “Tyra wants to produce a show for Miley. “Miley already has a huge following among teen girls, so her show would likely be successful. Tyra sees Miley’s potential.” I don’t even watch the Tyra show, what makes you think I am going to watch some piece of doodie produced by Tyra, even if it does star Miley.
Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz has sparked rumors she is engaged to British model Paul Sculfor – after she was photographed wearing a diamond band on her wedding finger. The Charlie’s Angels star has reportedly been dating Sculfor – who was recently linked to Jennifer Aniston – for the last few weeks but neither has officially confirmed the relationship. However, the pair stepped up speculation they are romantically involved after they were spotted locked in a passionate embrace following a romantic meal in Santa Monica, California on Monday night. And now Diaz has been snapped sporting a large diamond ring on her left hand, prompting rumors that her relationship with the former brick-layer could be more serious than previously thought. There needs to be more eligible bachelors out in La-la land. I mean she is dating Jennifer’s ex for gosh sake.
The dog U.S. actress Anne Hathaway shares with her ex-boyfriend Rafaello Follieri is being cared for by Follieri’s ill mother while Follieri is in jail. Follieri has been ordered to remain behind bars until he raises $21 million bail. The Italian businessman was arrested and charged this week with wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering in connection with his business dealings. Hathaway, who ended her four-year relationship with Follieri earlier this month, is traveling the world promoting her new movie “Get Smart.” Meanwhile, Esmeralda, the 2-year-old chocolate Labrador Retriever the former couple shares, is being looked after by Follieri’s mother, Anna, who came to New York from Italy to undergo cancer treatment and is staying in her son’s Trump Tower penthouse, the New York Post reported. She should really be on top of the world right now, successful movie; her ex is going to jail. But this is still lingering over her head.
And finally, “The Dark Knight” reportedly is to be dedicated to Australian actor Heath Ledger and a special-effects technician, both of whom died before the film opened. Conway Wickliffe, who worked on the new Batman movie’s special effects, was killed last September in a stunt-car accident and Ledger died of an accidental prescription drug overdose in January after wrapping his role as The Joker in the film. People.com said the movie’s closing credits will include the message, “In memory of our friends Heath Ledger & Conway Wickliffe.” Starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart and Maggie Gyllenhaal, the movie is to open July 18. Yeah, I still have little desire to see this movie.
