So Clay came out of the closet. Pop star Clay Aiken says he told his mother four years ago that he is gay. Aiken publicly confirmed his sexual orientation for the first time in this week’s issue of People magazine, which features the quote, “Yes, I’m gay,” on its cover, along with a photo of Aiken holding his son, Parker, who was born last month. Although the issue doesn’t hit newsstands until Friday, People ran an excerpt on its Web site Wednesday. The 29-year-old former American Idol star also confirmed speculation that his child was conceived via in vitro fertilization with his best friend, music producer Jaymes Foster. What is the next thing you are going to tell me? There is no Santa Claus? Nathan Lane is gay? Jodie Foster prefers the company of woman?
Mario Lopez is to be reunited with his Saved by the Bell co-star Mark-Paul Gosselaar for a one-off reunion of the TV show. Lopez – who hosts Warner Bros entertainment show Extra – has invited Gosselaar, who played Zach Morris in the hit show, to join him in a 20th anniversary special. And Gosselaar reveals he still watches re-runs of the show with his son and wife. He says, “We never thought the show was going to get picked up… it’s cool now to watch Saved By The Bell. It’s become an icon.” The Extra TV special will air in the on Friday. Well you know my Tivo is already set and ready to go.
Well this is interesting. Simon Cowell has confirmed that Britney Spears will appear on his British talent show The X-Factor, admitting she’s the “number one booking in the world.” Spears will perform on the show to promote her comeback album Circus and the music mogul, who has always been a big fan of the “Toxic” singer, can’t wait. He says, “We have the number one show in England. It’s the best show for her to perform on. We’re absolutely thrilled to have her. Now Simon bring her sexy ass over to America to appear on Idol.
Lindsay Lohan’s younger sister Ali’s stalled pop career may have been saved – she is in talks with the manager of The Jonas Brothers and Mr.. Justin Timberlake himself. The 14-year-old hit the Billboard chart with her first track, “All The Way Around,” from her debut LP earlier this year, but it failed to prove a hit, falling off the chart shortly after. And despite promoting her music through her reality TV show Living Lohan, the singer/actress has failed to set the charts alight since the first release. However, the star’s mom Dina is reportedly determined to get Ali signed up with Johnny Wright – who successfully co-manages Timberlake and The Jonas Brothers with their parents. Wow, I am amazed. That is something that I didn’t see coming, she isn’t the talented one.
Ludacris has lost part of his Atlanta, Georgia home after a raging fire rampaged through the mansion on Wednesday night. Atlanta fire officials have confirmed they were called to a property belonging to the rapper and battled for 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze which completely destroyed the property’s pool house. The star was not staying at the home when the fire began, but a relative was in the basement of the main property and escaped uninjured. Wow, that sucks. But at least it was the pool house and no one was injured, right?
Yeah, I know it is time for yet another Britney story. She reportedly is selling her 7,500-square-foot Studio City, California, home for $7.9 million with the idea of heading somewhere with more privacy. People.com reported the real estate listing described the hilltop property as an “exquisite gated Italian Renaissance-inspired villa” with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, three garages and a “grand entrance foyer.” The 26-year-old recording artist, who recently won a trio of MTV Video Music Awards, has called the mansion home for less than two years. Hey, I got about 40 bucks in my wallet right now.
And finally, Jim Carrey feared his romance with Jenny Mccarthy was over before it really started when the actress/model insisted on time alone to deal with her autistic son Evan’s health crisis. The funnyman wasn’t aware that his new love was suffering panic attacks as she attempted to balance a new romance with her young son’s issues – and when she “disappeared” he feared the worst. Speaking on Wednesday’s Oprah, the actor said, “She kind of disappeared from my life for a little while and she called me up and said, ‘Here’s the deal.’” The couple worked through their problems and now McCarthy can’t imagine life without Carrey. Good for the two of them.
