Thai police said Monday that they would welcome the FBI’s assistance in investigating the death of American actor David Carradine, but only as observers in the high-profile case. Carradine’s naked body was discovered last Thursday morning in his luxury suite at Bangkok’s Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel. Police initially suspected his death was a suicide, but have since said it may have been accidental suffocation or heart failure after revealing he was found with a rope tied around his wrist, neck and genitals. The circumstances suggested he might have died as a result of a dangerous sex game, Pornthip Rojanasunand, a prominent Thai forensic pathologist, said last week. With the uncertainty and conflicting information surrounding the death, Carradine’s family in the U.S. went to the FBI last Friday asking for its help investigating the case. “If the FBI wants to get involved, we will do our best to cooperate,” Thai police Maj. Gen. Amnuay Nimmano told reporters, adding that it would have to be in an observer role as mandated by Thai law. “We have nothing to hide.” Wow. That is kind of shady.
Rumors claiming Heidi and Spencer Pratt were mistreated on the Costa Rican set of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! are untrue, a show source said. The married reality TV personalities — who are known in the press as Speidi — quit Celebrity last week, but later campaigned to return to the competition series. NBC said they were housed in the show’s “Lost Chamber” until their fates were decided. Episodes showing what happened to them are expected to air this week. “I’m really saddened to hear that NBC felt it was OK to punish Speidi so harshly — and torture them as if they were criminals — that Heidi was … rushed to the hospital and has an IV in her arm after being locked in a dark room for three days with no food or water. Please pray she will be OK,” Usmagazine.com said Stephanie Pratt, Heidi’s sister-in-law, wrote in an Internet posting Saturday. “Any accusations that Spencer and Heidi were harmed are untrue,” a show insider told Usmagazine.com, adding the couple was given food and water during the 14 hours or so they spent in the “Lost Chamber.” “There was no danger, no life-threatening situations — in fact, they were actually protected from the elements, unlike the other contestants,” the source noted. “When they came out, they were happy and in good spirits.” “ITV has been producing this format around the world for many years and the health of the celebrity participants are of the utmost importance,” the show’s producers said in a statement. What I don’t understand is why are more people not watching this trashtastic show?
The photographer who snapped topless photos of Britney dancing on the set of her music video “Gimme More” has hit out at accusations the pictures were taken without her knowledge. Snaps first published on Sunday by Britain’s News of the World tabloid show the pop star wearing temporary tattoos over her breasts as she grinds to her hit 2007 song in a strip club setting. The photos have since surged onto the internet, sending gossips into a spin. The photographer’s agent, Alec Byrne, refuses to identify his client but insists Spears brought the photographer to the video shoot and posed for the topless snaps, taken at a Los Angeles studio. Byrne tells the New York Post, “These pictures were (Spears’) idea. She was going to use this in the promotion of the video – but obviously, after (she) saw the content, decided not to. These weren’t sneak pictures.” A lawyer for the conservatorship overseeing Spears’ assets, controlled by her father Jamie Spears, had not returned requests for comment as WENN went to press. Britney these photos were from 2007, keep with the positive steps forward.
R and B star Cassie was furious when semi-naked pictures of her were leaked online – and blames her email provider for the blunder. The singer was left shamed and furious after photos of her exposing her breasts hit the web last month. She quickly announced the snaps had been stolen from her email account, branding the person behind the stunt “foul and evil.” And the star took to the airwaves over the weekend to slam both the hacker and web mail company Gmail – owned by search engine giant Google. She said, “True (the snaps were leaked). Not by me. We’re closer to an idea of who did it, yeah. Its being somewhat investigated. But I think we’re closer to finding out who it was. “I wasn’t sure what the situation was until we asked more questions and found out more things, but it was in an old email from like last year that I had. Actually it was Gmail and sometimes Gmail is the worst “It was a year ago I took the pictures and sent them. I don’t even have the pictures anymore, so that was the crazy part about it. I got a phone call about 11 at night and my stomach fell. I freaked out for a second and then, what can you do when that happens. “A lot of people take pictures like that for their significant other and that’s what it was for me, I had sent them to someone. Now I’ve learned not to use an email to send a picture obviously.” Semi-naked? Dude, I could see what she had for lunch, that’s how naked and spread she was.
It’s the moment from last night’s Tony Awards that everyone is still talking about this morning: After opening the ceremony with a performance by his band Poison and the cast of Rock of Ages. Brett Michaels sauntered directly into the path of an enormous piece of scenery descending from the ceiling. Ouch. Live theater is no joke! A Tony’s spokesperson, who told the Associated Press that the star of VH1’s Rock of Love “missed his mark” on stage (well, duh), did not know the extent of any injuries that Michaels suffered from the accident. I’m guessing that means it couldn’t have been anything too serious; a rep for VH1 hasn’t yet responded to an EW request for more info. Let’s hope Michaels isn’t hurting too badly. Ha, that is really funny.
Movie beauty Megan Fox is battling her protective mother over the actress’ plans to add to her tattoo collection. The Transformers star has eight etchings on her body, and reportedly wants to cover her entire right arm with a tattoo ’sleeve’. But her mum Darlene is begging Megan to reconsider – fearing the body art will put off movie bosses and jeopardize her career. A source tells the National Enquirer, “She has never understood why her daughter would want to cover her gorgeous body with tattoos. After each new tattoo, Darlene pleaded with Megan not to get more. Darlene believes that when Megan is a 40-year-old woman wanting to play more mature roles, people won’t want to hire her because it will be too hard to cover her tattoos. I swear nothing beats HOT girls with lots of tattoos.
Call it a shot of confusion. Under the heading “Clearing Up All the Rumors,” Tila Tequila complains on her MySpace Blog that even a “very fun-loving, happy, and drama-free type of girl” like her can get rattled by a spate of pregnancy reports. “I just felt the need to clear up the rumors for all of my fans because I care about you and want you to know the truth!” Tequila, 27, writes on her blog. Although Tequila, herself, reportedly started the rumors – Extra says she announces she was pregnant, hinting it was by an A-list star, on a late-night Twitter post that was quickly taken down – the Shot of Love star now wants to now respond. “The point is … maybe I was pregnant, or maybe I wasn’t pregnant,” she says. “I think that is something very personal but I’m going to clear that up now and say that I am not currently pregnant.” A Shot of Love? More like a shot of Penicillin. Hiyo.
And finally, T.I. has married his long-time girlfriend, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle, in a private ceremony in Miami. The pair were engaged for two years and are parents to two children of their own, as well as three kids from T.I.’s previous relationship. According to Essence, the couple married on holiday before T.I. checked into jail to serve a 366-day sentence on gun charges. Cottle is a former member of the defunct R&B group Xscape. This is the first marriage for both parties.
