A 23-year-old man has been arrested in the death of “American Idol” castoff Alexis Cohen, police in New Jersey said Monday. Cohen, who earned some notoriety for yelling at the judges during her failed auditions for Seasons 7 and 8 of the singing competition series, was struck by a car and killed last weekend in the New Jersey shore town of Seaside Heights. Her body reportedly was discovered by two pedestrians near her car. She was 25. TMZ said Daniel Bark has been arrested and charged with death by reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident. Bark faces a maximum of 15 years in prison, if convicted, the entertainment news Web site noted. Oh that sucks totally, I remember her.
Singer Chris Brown has checked into the same New York hotel as his singer girlfriend Rihanna despite a restraining order against him, hotel sources say. The New York Post said Sunday while a Los Angeles restraining order bars Brown from having contact with Rihanna, unidentified hotel sources said both stars checked into the Trump International Hotel & Tower on the same day. The sources said the two singers are staying in separate rooms since Friday’s check-in and have been transported to and from the site in separate chauffeured vehicles. Brown, 20, has already pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault in relation to a Feb. 8 domestic altercation with Rihanna, 21, in Los Angeles. The presiding judge in Brown’s assault case ordered the “Exclusive” singer to remain at least 50 yards away from Rihanna at all times unless they both attend a music industry event. At such events, the two singers must remain 10 yards apart. The Post said Brown is expected to receive a plea deal agreement of 1,400 hours of community service and required domestic-violence counseling at his Aug. 5 sentencing. Country music singer LeAnn Rimes and her husband Dean Sheremet are separated and living in different homes, a Rimes friend says. The unidentified source said Rimes, 26, and Sheremet, 36, were attempting to work on their relationship while apart, People.com reported Friday. ”Le and Dean have been separated for quite some time now, but they’re continuing to try and work through their relationship,” the source said. The news of the country singer’s separation comes four months after Rimes was romantically linked to actor Eddie Cibrian. The anonymous Rimes friend said in March that Cibrian, 36, was not behind the couple’s marital woes. ”There have been issues brewing for months prior to meeting Eddie on set,” the source said. People.com said a Tennessee home owned by Rimes and Sheremet, who married in 2002, is up for sale at $7.45 million. See former fatties always think they can do better.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office will almost certainly list the cause of singer Michael Jackson’s death as homicide, law enforcement sources told TMZ. Jackson died June 25 after going into cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home. The results of tests performed on the 50-year-old entertainer’s body are to be released next week. The expectation of a likely homicide ruling is based on a draft of the autopsy report, as well as what is being described as “clear evidence” that natural, accidental, accidental overdose and suicide have been ruled out as causes of Jackson’s death, the law enforcement sources told TMZ. Jackson’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is under investigation. Media reports claim he allegedly administered the anesthesia Propofol to Jackson the day he died. Murray reportedly has been interviewed by police and his offices have been searched. Yeah, the shiznit has not even begun to hit the fan yet.
As her estranged husband gallivants around New York City and the Hamptons with other women, Kate Gosselin has taken a more subtle step toward a new life: She’s removed her wedding band. The reality star was photographed Friday for the first time without her ring during a coffee run near her Pennsylvania home. Just last month, removing the ring seemed like a symbolic gesture that the mother of eight was not yet ready to make. “I haven’t taken off my ring,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “It would devastate my kids. It’s not necessary. I was looking at it while I was in the shower this morning, and I thought, I’m not taking it off. I’m not ready.” How long before she starts dating girls with her bulldyke haircut?
Its official: Joe Jonas and Camilla Belle have broken up. “Yes, it’s true, they have broken up,” Brad Cafarelli, Belle’s rep, confirmed Monday. “There is no third party involved and they care deeply about each other and will remain friends.” The 19-year-old rock star, known for his energetic performances, was reportedly visibly saddened during a Jonas Brothers concert in Detroit last night, especially when he sang “Much Better,” a song he penned after he began dating Belle, 22, last fall. The song is about a girlfriend who is “much better” than a previous girlfriend. The song is widely believed to be a dig at Taylor Swift who very publically dissed him after he broke up with her. Though neither Jonas or Belle ever confirmed that they were dating, Jonas was often seen going out to lunch with the 10,000 B.C. actress. The two met last September while filming the Jonas Brothers’ music video “Lovebug.” Jonas broke up with Swift soon after meeting Belle but made it clear in a blog on the Jonas Brothers’ MySpace page, which he never cheated on anyone. Uber-Ass Kim Kardashian may not be ready to have kids just yet, but the reality star says that motherhood is in her future one way or another. “I think it is such a very unselfish and amazing thing to do,” she told PEOPLE at a question and answer session – “The Kardashians: Up Close and Personal” – at the Hilton hotel in Atlantic City Saturday night. “If I couldn’t have kids, I probably would adopt. If I could have my own, I would have my own.” In the meantime, Kardashian says she’s looking for new home, but does not plan to move in with her boyfriend, NFL star Reggie Bush, any time soon. I hope that her kids do not inherit her giant ass though.
And finally, Jennifer Lopez is denying reports that she’s in the running to replace American Idol judge Paula Abdul, who still has not signed a contract with Idol producers to return for season 8 of the FOX hit singing competition. A rep for Lopez tells PEOPLE exclusively, “The rumor of Jennifer Lopez throwing herself in the ring to take over for Paula Abdul is completely false. Jennifer loves Idol but just as a fan. She just wrapped the feature film The Back-Up Plan, due out January 2010, and will release an album then as well.” Lopez who turned 40 on Friday on Friday and her rep adds, “This weekend Jen is celebrating her birthday with friends and family.” The reports surfaced after Lopez and Idol host Ryan Seacrest were spotted having dinner at Madeo in Los Angeles earlier this month. Seacrest told paparazzi outside Madeo that “Jennifer and Paula would be a hell of a combination” on the show.
