Singer Adam Lambert’s sexually charged performance at the American Music Awards has caused the Walt Disney Co-owned ABC-TV to review the steps it takes in preparing for live broadcasts of performers, Disney’s head of television said on Monday.   Lambert, the runner-up on this year’s “American Idol,” gave a controversial performance during ABC’s broadcast of the American Music Awards on November 22, in which he simulated oral sex on-stage with a backup dancer, kissed a man and gave the middle finger to the audience.   ABC edited Lambert’s performance during the West Coast broadcast of the night-time awards show, and later canceled Lambert’s scheduled November 25 appearance on its “Good Morning America” program.  Disney/ABC Television Group President Anne Sweeney told Reuters that in reaction to the Lambert performance, Disney was reviewing the steps it takes to vet live performances by getting assurances from artists that their stage shows will resemble their rehearsals, and using contractual obligations to hold them to that.   Well why didn’t MTV edit out the Britney / Madonna kiss from 5 years ago. 

Golf star Tiger Woods took responsibility on Sunday for crashing his SUV outside his Florida house and said his wife acted courageously to help him, but again canceled an interview with authorities investigating the incident.  The world’s top golfer said he wanted to keep details private of the accident in which his SUV crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree outside his mansion, but a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officer said charges were still pending.   The accident occurred after Woods pulled his Cadillac Escalade out of the driveway of his house at about 2:25 a.m. EST on Friday, the FHP said. He was taken to the hospital with injuries and released.   ”This situation is my fault and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me,” Woods, 33, said on his official website.  “I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.   ”This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.”  I suggest Kobe’s lawyer.

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal’s representatives say the dating Hollywood stars have not broken up, contrary to a report claiming they did.   People.com quoted an unnamed source as saying, without elaboration, that Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal recently ended their romantic relationship after about two years.   However, representatives for the celebrities told the magazine’s Web site the insider has the story wrong.   ”It is not true,” the stars’ publicists Nanci Ryder and Carrie Byalick said in a joint statement. “They are still together.”   Witherspoon, a divorced mother of two, won the 2006 Oscar for her work in “Walk the Line.”   Gyllenhaal is best known for his performance in the 2005 film “Brokeback Mountain.” His new film “Brothers” is to open in U.S. theaters Friday.   Anything for publicity to keep his name out there for his new movie opening.

Oprah Winfrey’s production company says there are no plans to air the traditional favorite things episode of her show this year.   The decision was confirmed by TVGuide.com Wednesday but no reason for the change was reported.   Since 2002, Winfrey has bestowed her favorite beauty products, food, books, appliances and other items on all the members of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” studio audience one day around Thanksgiving. The special episode is usually wildly popular with her fans.   However, a Harpo Productions representative told TVGuide.com there are no plans for such a show this season.   Winfrey recently announced her intention to wrap up her show in 2011 after 25 years.   Damn it Oprah, you really suck as of late.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In his VH1 show My Antonio, Antonio Sabato Jr. traveled to Hawaii in search of love – and he found it!   The actor, 37, stepped out with his new love, singer-songwriter Cheryl Moana Marie, on Sunday at the Hollywood Christmas Parade, introducing her as “my girlfriend.”   Shortly after Sabato’s show wrapped, a source tells insiders, he and the Hawaiian-born Marie began to date. “They are so solid, so happy together,” the source says.  See people, level B celebs really can find love on reality TV.

 

 

 

 

 

 

It’ll be a first-family wedding for former first daughter Chelsea Clinton. The daughter of President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Marc Mezvinsky, it has been confirmed to MSN.com.   Clinton, 29, of course, is the former first couple’s only child. Mezvinsky, a banker and fellow Stanford alumnus, is the 31-year-old son of former Iowa congressman Ed Mezvinsky and former Pennsylvania congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinksy. It’s the stuff country songs are made of. David Hasselhoff and his ex-wife Pamela Bach are having a troubled start to the holiday season – one landing in the hospital, the other in jail over the Thanksgiving weekend.   Hasselhoff was hospitalized for two days, PEOPLE has confirmed, though his attorney Mel Goldsman would not disclose the nature of his illness.   “David is home now and he’s fine,” says Goldsman. Hasselhoff’s troubles began at home on Friday. Though authorities did not identify the name of the patient or the owner of the home, a fire department spokesman did confirm that paramedics responded to a call for medical aid at 11:51 a.m. at a home in Encino, and the patient was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. People learned that the address of the home matches the one owned by Hasselhoff.   Also, Hasselhoff’s ex-wife Bach was arrested on a DUI charge by the California Highway Patrol on Saturday night while driving down the 101 Freeway near Laurel Canyon Blvd. According to a Los Angeles Police Department jail spokesman, she was taken into custody at the Van Nuys jail and later released on her own recognizance.  When will the cops stop hasselling the Hoff?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The fourth time just might be the charm for Tom Arnold, who wed Ashley Groussman in an intimate ceremony on Saturday in Maui, PEOPLE has confirmed.   More than 75 family and friends attended the ceremony at Shep and Renee Gordon’s home, including actor Dax Shepard, who served as Arnold’s best man. Andrea Groussman was the maid of honor and designed the couple’s rings.  Arnold and home organizer Groussman, who wore a Claire Pettibone gown, met through mutual friends in April 2008. “I knew that if I could get Ashley to fall in love with me, I’d never have to worry about anything else as long as I lived,” Arnold wrote on the couple’s weddingchannel.com page. The two became engaged this past March at Arnold’s 50th birthday party. “I’m the luckiest girl in the world!” Groussman wrote.  Wow, 4^th time?  Does he still have any money?  Because he isn’t that attractive.

What did I do to attract this?’”  And according to New York nutritionist and founder of SkinnyandtheCity.com Tanya Zuckerbrot, MS, RD Pratt’s now scary skinny body isn’t exactly healthy and she estimates the reality starlet has probably gone from 140 pounds to 112 in the last four-five months.  Eh, my guess is that it was a liquid diet, remember she got a DUI a couple of months ago.

And finally, Now that Rihanna has gotten much of the explaining and documenting of her infamous night with Chris Brown that left her beaten and bloodied, she’s free to talk about less serious things, like naked photos of herself and sex in general. The ‘Russian Roulette’ R&B queen boldly opens up in an exclusive interview with Britain’s The Sun, telling the newspaper that she thinks “Every woman should have naked pictures taken.” Her reasoning? “In five years my body might not look like this!”  Um Rihanna, didn’t this get you in trouble a couple of months ago, when the naked pictures were “leaked” on to the Internet.

The “Twilight” sequel scored the third-biggest opening weekend of all time at the North American box office on Sunday, as millions of young women swooned over the complex love triangle involving a high school girl, a vampire and a werewolf.   “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” earned an estimated $140.7 million during its first three days of release across the United States and Canada, closely held distributor Summit Entertainment said, crushing industry expectations.   The record for an opening is $158 million, set last year by the Batman sequel “The Dark Knight.” The 2007 movie “Spider-Man 3″ follows with $151 million. “New Moon” replaced “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” ($136 million) at No. 3.   The vampire romance is well on its way to exceeding the $193 million total of its predecessor, “Twilight,” which was released exactly a year ago.   Summit Entertainment said “New Moon” also set an opening-day record with Friday sales of $72.7 million, surpassing the $67.2 million haul of “The Dark Knight.”   That tally was bolstered by record-breaking midnight sales of $26.3 million. The old mark was set earlier this year by “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” with $22.2 million.   Um, they will not be getting my twelve dollars.

Country crossover star Taylor Swift overshadowed the late Michael Jackson at the American Music Awards on Sunday, winning five awards including artist of the year.   Jackson, who had been expected to enjoy a clean sweep, ended up with four awards. He and Swift went head-to-head in the artist of the year race, the ceremony’s final prize.   Other multiple winners included hip-hop acts Jay-Z and the Black Eyed Peas, with two each.   Swift, 19, was also named favorite female artist in the pop/rock and country categories, and favorite adult-contemporary artist. Her 2008 album “Fearless,” the best-selling release in the United States this year, was named favorite country album.   She accepted her awards live via satellite from backstage at London’s Wembley Arena, where she will perform a concert on Monday.   Did the Ama’s really have to ship her overseas to London in order for Kanye not to crash her acceptance speech?

Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez Monday laughed off an embarrassing misstep she made at the American Music Awards show Sunday night.   She jumped down onto the stage from a dancer’s back and fell on her bottom during a performance of her new song “Louboutins.” She quickly bounced back up and went right on dancing, however.   ”Did I trip a little bit? I don’t even remember,” EW.com reported she joked on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Monday morning. “I meant to do that! You should know me better than that. That was part of the choreography!”   Seacrest praised Lopez with “the greatest recovery ever” following her tumble, prompting the entertainer to note, “The measure of things is not what happens when you fall, it’s how you handle when you fall,” EW.com said.   So is it bad I forgot that J-Lo was a singer?

Over 10,000 people showed up at Roosevelt Field mall in Long Island in anticipation of Justin Bieber’s appearance, causing the event to be canceled.  Bieber used his twitter account to let his fans know what had happened: “they are not allowing me to come into the mall. If you don’t leave I and my fans will be arrested as the police just told us,” he tweeted at about 4:30 p.m.   He later wrote: “the event at roosevelt mall is cancelled. please go home. the police have already arrested one person from my camp. I don’t want anyone hurt.”  Yeah Justin, you are still a wannabee Jonas Brother.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Michael Jackson’s famous white glove sold for $350,000 at a memorabilia auction on Saturday, soaring far past pre-sale estimates, while a black jacket he wore during a 1989 world tour fetched $225,000.   The Jackson memorabilia was the highlight of an auction of hundreds of rock’n'roll items, including many not associated with the “King of Pop,” who died in June.   Darren Julien, CEO of Julien’s Auctions, which ran the auction, called the glove “the Holy Grail of Michael Jackson,” and many expected it to sell for far more than its pre-sale estimate of about $50,000.   With the added commission, the final price excluding taxes ran to some $420,000.   The buyer was Hong Kong businessman Hoffman Ma.  Well that’s one way to pay off your kid-touching tab.

A bus carrying members of Miley Cyrus’ production crew crashed early Friday morning in Virginia. According to Virginia Police, the driver of the bus was killed in the crash and one other person sustained minor injuries.   Miley Cyrus was not on board the bus that crashed, however according to TMZ, she was on another bus in the 4-vehicle caravan. “It was one of our tour buses, but not Miley’s,” Cyrus’ manager told TMZ. “It was one of our buses that transported our lighting crew.”   The bus was en route to Greensboro, North Carolina where the singer is scheduled to perform on Sunday.   I always knew that Miley was dangerous to listen to.

Record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs spent $3 million on his 40th birthday party at The Plaza Hotel in New York, observers say.   The New York Post reported Sunday that Combs’ birthday celebration at the New York hotel included a silver-confetti drop, a $30,000 orchid display and a black dance floor installed just for last week’s event.   Singer Al Green performed at last Thursday’s lavish affair, which drew a variety of celebrities.   The Post said among the famous names attending Combs’ party were TV host Martha Stewart, actor Denzel Washington, singer Bono and model Christy Turlington.   Several of Combs’ fellow rappers were also in attendance such as Nelly, Jay-Z and Fabolous.  Recession? What recession.

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom, who were married two months ago after a brief, whirlwind courtship, are settling down.   The Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami star, 25, and her L.A. Lakers husband, 30, have purchased a seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home in a Tarzana, Calif., gated community for nearly $4 million, a rep for Kardashian confirmed to PEOPLE.    While the couple now gears up for decorating the massive home, could populating their home with children be in the future? Maybe! When asked by talk show host Chelsea Handler earlier this month if Khloe is pregnant yet, Odom responded, “Soon.” And when Handler pushed and asked, “You planning on having a baby soon? You want to do that right away?” Odom responded, “I do.”   A source tells PEOPLE, “Khloe’s beyond loving married life. She loves Lamar, she loves her life, she loves just being with Lamar, and she can’t wait to move into a huge house.”  I bet Kim is flipping her shit right now.

Production on Cougar Town has been suspended for now while star Courtney Cox attends to a family matter.   Neither reps for Arquette, 45, nor the show disclosed what the issue was.   In a statement, an ABC rep says: “We can confirm production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter.”  Hum what could it be?  Sounds kind of shady to me.

And finally, It was a happy moment for funnyman Jim Carrey last weekend when he escorted his daughter, Jane, down the aisle at her wedding to musician Alex Santana.   ”It was a beautiful day. Simple and sweet,” the actor tells PEOPLE in a statement. “I wish them everything that love has given us.”   Carey also shared his joy on Twitter Wednesday night. “My Jane is a married women. days ago her and my new son in law Alex got hitched,” he wrote. “The day was simply perfect… lots of love there.. ” In the spring, the star will become a grandfather as well: Jane, 22, is due to give birth to her first child in March. “I am very excited,” he said in July. “Jane is going to be a great mom.”   Jane is Carey’s daughter with his first wife Melissa.  Way to put the cart before the horse Jane, I can surely bet the wedding was not in a Catholic Church.

In “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” lovelorn character Bella Swan gets dumped by her vampire man, sinks into depression and later flies to Italy to pursue him. While that may sound too extreme, actress Kristen Stewart thinks Bella is setting a good example to girls.   ”New Moon” debuts in theaters on Friday, and the sequel to last year’s “Twilight” is expected to have an opening weekend as extreme as its storyline, judging by early interest.   It is the top advance ticket seller of all time for online outlet Fandango.com, and by Tuesday afternoon, MovieTickets.com was reporting nearly 2200 sold-out shows.   At a Los Angeles premiere, thousands of fans screamed and waved signs for their favorite actors. Social networking website MySpace carried a live stream of the event and lured nearly 3 million viewers.   Yeah, I am still not on the Twilight train, but my loyal readers are fans.

Fans of Taylor Swift can be greeted by the pop princess on their birthdays – she is designing a line of personalized cards.  The “Love Story” hitmaker is teaming up with American Greetings to create a line including gift packaging, stationery and photo-personalized products.   She says, “My idea of a great song is a song that says how I feel better than I could. I feel the same way about greeting cards.   ”I’ve always been fascinated by feelings and how we express them to each other. Getting to write and design these cards is a wonderful experience.”   The Taylor Swift greeting cards will be available from next year.  Wow, she really can do no wrong.  Rock on Taylor.

Since winning Idol in 2005, Carrie Underwood has become one of the show’s highest selling graduates, but she warned the latest crop of “Idol” finalists to “stay true” to their fans if they want to find similar success.   Underwood, who on Monday spoke to reporters during a conference call, will star next month in a holiday special, and she just released her second consecutive chart-topping album, “Play On.”   As it happens, three finalists from this past season of top-rated television show “American Idol,” a reality singing competition, are about to release their own albums.   ”I feel like any contestant that comes off ‘Idol’ that does well on ‘Idol’ has to stay true to what people voted for,” Underwood said, in response to a question.   ”I’ve seen it happen a few times where people are one thing on the show, and then they got off the show and try to do something else,” she said.   Underwood, 26, said that she finds it “really strange” when “Idol” contestants change their musical style after leaving the show, because through their votes viewers tell contestants “what they want.”   See, that is how you do it, take note Fantasia.

Nicole Richie has been hospitalized but is “doing well.”   “Nicole has checked into Cedars-Sinai where she is being treated for pneumonia,” her rep tells celebrity news agency X17. “She is doing well.”   Last week the star’s rep shot down Internet rumors that Richie, 28, was suffering from the swine flu.   On Sunday, she tweeted about battling illness, writing “ok cold, it’s been 6 days. Let’s part ways graciously & keep it moving.”  Well, at least it is not that fake disease Dehydration; you know the one that Lindsay Lohan suffers from.

The U.S. government is not happy with Aaron Carter.   The former Dancing with the Stars contestant owes a whopping $1,010,635.08 in back taxes going back to 2003, L.A. County records show.   “We have made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid,” the papers state.   A rep for Carter, 21, wasn’t immediately available for comment.  Um, how long before he starts to do gay porn to pay the tax man.

Sorry, Julianne Hough fans, you’ll have to endure another season of Dancing with the Stars without your favorite pro dancer in the ballroom. Hough, whose break from the show started with the current season, says she won’t be back for season 9.  “No I’m not coming back next season,” Hough, 21, told Ryan Seacrest at the New Moon premiere Monday night in Los Angeles.  And as for whether she might come back the following season, Hough dodged the question. “We’re going go cross that bridge when we come to it,” she said.  Good, I vote you don’t go back, you are bigger than that show.  You got out just in time.

Ken Ober, a comedian and actor who as host of MTV’s “Remote Control” in the 1980s guided the raucous question-and-answer trivia contests on the irreverent cable TV game show, was found dead Sunday at his home in Santa Monica. He was 52.  Lee Kernis of Brillstein Entertainment Partners, who represented Ober, confirmed the death but said the cause was unknown. According to Kernis, friends said Ober had been feeling ill with a headache and flu-like symptoms Saturday and did not meet them later as planned. An autopsy is planned.  Oh man, this sucks.  I remember watching Remote Control while on lunch in grade school.  It was a fantastic show.

And finally, People magazine has released its annual list of the 100 Sexiest Men Alive, with Johnny Depp taking the lead as THE sexiest man alive in 2009.   Others on People’s list? Adam Lambert, Nick Cannon, Robert Downey Jr. and the hot trio of guys from “Glee” — Matthew Morrison, Cory Monteith and Mark Salling. Is it just me, or is he a little dirty?  And Nick Cannon?  Really?
