The latest news in the Tiger Woods saga is that Elin Nordegren has decided to file for divorce.  People magazine quotes a source as saying of Elin, “She plans to leave Tiger,” while another source tells the publication, “She’s made up her mind. There’s nothing to think about: he’s never going to change.”   A high-profile divorce attorney in Florida adds that Nordegren has met with lawyers to renegotiate the prenuptial agreement, according to People.   And there will be no reconciliation over the holidays. A source told the New York Post that Elin is “planning to go somewhere warm and Tiger-free for Christmas.”   Meanwhile, Us Weekly claims that Tiger Woods and Rachel Uchitel, one of his several alleged mistresses, “are not over.”   Wow, who could not see that one coming?

To update a story I did a couple of weeks ago, Hollywood film stars Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have broken up after dating for about two years, sources told E! News.   People.com reported the couple went their separate ways about two weeks ago, but their representatives denied the account at the time.   E! News Tuesday cited unnamed insiders as confirming the report is true, however. The program also noted on its Web site that Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal’s publicists are now declining to comment on the story.   ”They needed time to figure it out and they were on different coasts,” a source told E! News. “When they were finally together, they talked it out and decided they’re not going to be together anymore.”   ”There are no other people involved,” another insider added. “The relationship just ended. It just fizzled. But they also wanted to be careful and private about it because of Reese’s kids.”   Witherspoon was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe, the father of her two children.  Well who would not want to put a ring on that?

Lil Wayne will spend a year in jail starting February 9, 2010. He appeared in court in Manhattan Tuesday to receive his sentencing date.   The rapper, 27, pleaded guilty to felony weapons charges after a loaded 9mm handgun was found on his tour bus in New York in July 2007.   Lil Wayne’s forthcoming album, Rebirth, is slated for a February 1st release.  Wow, that isn’t good.  I wonder who is going to be the reigning king of rap.  Oh that’s right, we got Jay Z.

As a busy mom of three and a TV personality, Kelly Ripa doesn’t have much time for romance. But when the occasion calls for it, she and husband Mark Consuelos make sure to dive right into a stimulating night of – cooking shows.   “A date night for us is watching Top Chef,” Ripa, 39, tells Redbook in its January issue, out Dec. 22. “A date night for us is getting our kids asleep before 9:30! It’s really just about checking in, asking how the other person’s day is, and cuddling up. It doesn’t have to lead to anything, although it usually does. But it doesn’t have to.”   Of course, it’s a big change from when they started out in what was admittedly a stormy marriage, she says.  OMG, I love Top Chef, way to keep it real Kelly.

It’s not easy raising a 16-year-old daughter, says Whitney Houston. But no matter what – even if Bobbi Kristina is borrowing her mother’s clothes and not returning them – Houston assures she’ll always be by her daughter’s side.   “If she’s angry, I allow her to say, ‘Damn! I’m so frustrated today!’ “Houston tells Instyle’s January issue in a cover story. “We have our moments when we clash, but we have a good relationship. I want her to count on me to try to understand what she’s going through. No damnation, no condemnation, nothing that’s going to make her feel like she can’t come to me.”  Um Whitney, don’t you mean she can count your pills for you?

It’s no secret that Sean “Diddy” Combs has probably seen it all. Growing up as a kid in Harlem, he never dreamed he’d be a music, fashion, television and restaurant mogul. “I dare you to write down all my achievements. It will be overwhelming. Break it down and then say who’s number one in hip-hop,” he says in the January/February issue of Playboy. “If I’m not inspiring you at this point, you’re a lost hope.”  During the interview, Puffy puts all his cards on the table, as he opens up about his relationship with J.Lo, his interesting meeting with Michael Jackson his brief stint dealing drugs and how he tried to lose his virginity … at age 7!  Um 7? Really?  Did your unit even work at that age?

And finally, Michael Lohan was arrested Monday on a second-degree charge of criminal contempt, TVGuide.com has confirmed.  The father of actress Lindsay Lohan has pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Monday and posted $2,000 cash bail, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in New York.  Lohan’s attorney told The Associated Press his client is the victim of fabricated claims and that it was Muller that called him. Lohan was charged with aggravated harassment earlier this year after reportedly threatening to kill himself and Muller when she tried to break up with him, a charge he later denied in court, according to the AP.  Lohan is due in court next on Jan. 8. He did not return calls for comment.

Kourtney Kardashian’s publicist says the reality television personality has given birth to a son she named Mason Dash Disick.   The child is the first for Kardashian and Scott Disick, her boyfriend of two years.   ”Kourtney just delivered a healthy baby boy about an hour ago,” her representative told E! News and Life & Style magazine Monday morning.   ”A boy is definitely needed in this family!” Kardashian told E! News in October. “Scott and I are thrilled to add a little boy to the bunch.”   ”We’re home every night looking at baby books and baby magazines,” Disick told Usmagazine.com before the baby’s birth. “I just want to stay home with (Kourtney,) enjoy her company, look at her stomach and be with her.”   Kardashian is known for her TV programs “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami.”  If Scott was not so much of a douche, I would be happy.

Melissa Rycroft, who was jilted on the reality series “The Bachelor” in 2008, said she married her boyfriend, Tye Strickland, in Mexico.   E! Online said Rycroft, 26, confirmed she married the insurance agent, who she has been dating on and off for several years, on Saturday.   ”Tye is my best friend in the world, and now he’s my partner forever. We have had such a journey within our relationship, that to finally look at him and see my husband, gives me the calmest, most content feeling in the world,” Rycroft said.   Rycroft, a correspondent on “Good Morning America,” gained notoriety after appearing on “The Bachelor” during the show’s 13th season. After being chosen as the winner of the series by bachelor Jason Mesnick, Rycroft and Mesnick became engaged. Yet weeks later, Mesnick revealed he split from Rycroft and instead wanted a relationship with “Bachelor” runner-up Molly Malaney. “I’m really happy for her,” Mesnick told People magazine of Rycroft’s new romance. “This whole journey took her to a place where things looked like they were down for her. But then she ended up with the person she was mean to be with. That’s what life’s all about.”  Good for her, nice job landing on your feet.

A schizophrenic man who admitted punching British pop diva Leona Lewis she signed copies of her autobiography in a London bookstore was ordered by a court on Monday to be detained indefinitely under mental health regulations.   Peter Kowalczyk, 29, hit the singer, who won the British TV talent show “The X Factor” and whose single “Bleeding Love” was a worldwide hit, in October.   London’s City of Westminster magistrates’ court was told that Kowalczyk said “gotcha” as he landed the punch.   Prosecutor Melanie Lee said Lewis, whose debut album “Spirit” has sold more than 6.5 million copies worldwide, was left with redness and swelling to the face, and whiplash symptoms.   ”I feel completely devastated by this attack,” Lewis said in a witness statement read to the court.   ”Now I am very frightened about going out in public and I don’t know where the next attack will come from and if this will be more serious than what has just happened.”   Oh man, turn it around Leona.

Pop sensation Ke$ha wrecked her chances of becoming Paris Hilton’s ‘BFF’ when she threw up in the socialite’s closet.  The “Tik Tok” hitmaker sang backing vocals on Hilton’s album, Paris, and the two girls briefly became friends – but that ended when Ke$ha mistook the heiress’ wardrobe for her bathroom.   She recalls, “We were all dancing, hanging out and I got overexcited and ralphed (threw up) in her closet. I thought it was a bathroom.   ”That kind of ended the relationship right there. I wouldn’t want to be my friend either.”  Haaaa, that is rich.  Stupid girl had it coming.

Courtney Love is losing control. But this time it involves her most precious possession: her daughter.  A  Los Angeles court has appointed temporary guardians over Frances Bean, 17, although the reasons are not immediately clear. Kurt Cobain’s mother, Wendy O’Connor and his younger sister, Kimberly, now have legal, medical and financial authority over the teenager. A court hearing on the matter has been scheduled for February 10.   “This doesn’t necessarily mean that Courtney Love is an unfit mother and has completely lost custody,” says L.A. probate attorney Jeffrey S. Cohen, who’s not involved with the case. “It’s too early to say. It could be because she’s simply going out of state for a long period of time.”  Oh-o that’s not good.

While some reports are calling Benji Madden Holly Madison’s “boyfriend,” the former Girls Next Door star is labeling him her “adventure buddy.”   “I don’t want to talk about him, except that I like him,” Madison told PEOPLE when asked about reports linking her to the Good Charlotte guitarist.   The possible coupling comes after the duo were spotted in Los Angeles at a coffee shop. The two have also flirted over Twitter, with Madden even hyping Madison’s E! show with Tweets.  Um, Ew.  Nasty.

Speaking of The Girls Next Door, It’s a boy for Kendra Wilkinson and husband Hank Baskett.   Their son, Hank Randall Baskett IV, was delivered via C-section at 12:37 a.m. on Friday in Indiana, where Baskett is a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. The baby boy weighed in at 9 lbs. 5 oz. and measured 22 inches.   Wilkinson, 24, who rose to fame as part of Hugh Hefner’s trio of girlfriends on The Girls Next Door, announced her pregnancy weeks before she got hitched to Hank, 27, in a June 27 ceremony at the Playboy mansion in Los Angeles.  Good for her.  She was always my favorite.

Some musicians write songs about their family. Michelle Branch likes to bake with hers.   “Once I had my daughter, Owen, I enjoyed baking that much more,” Branch, 26, tells PEOPLE. “It’s such a mother-daughter thing to do. It all comes down to being with family and doing something for your family. I think that’s why we get an urge to bake at the holidays. We all get an urge to be close and spend time with each other over a cup of coffee and a piece of pie.”   Branch, who’s readying her third solo album, Everything Comes and Goes, for release next year, says she has always had a passion for baking – and it’s something she shared with her 4-year-old from an early age.  Is this a publicity stunt for her new album?  I mean, really a baker?

Forget about being “Tardy for the Party”  It seems Kim Zolciak and NeNe Leakes may not even be invited to the party! A report claims Bravo producers are looking to replace the feuding stars in the third season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.  “Things with NeNe and Kim have been intense,” a source told the New York Daily News, “but Bravo feels the show is about the franchise as a whole and won’t let one person stop it.”  The two frenemies are reportedly demanding bigger paychecks from Bravo for the upcoming season and the show’s producers are “so fed up with their diva-esque requests” that they’re “taking meetings with some notable and wealthy Atlanta women” about joining the show in Kim and NeNe’s place.  Um, Dear Bravo, you better not replace these two.  They are the stars of the show.

And finally, it’s over for Hollywood hottie Kate Hudson and Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez, according to sources in Miami.  Insiders tell us that A-Rod partied in Miami solo all weekend (and with other women!), while Kate was in New York promoting her new movie, Nine.  A-Rod partied at Wall Lounge in the W Hotel Friday night, Dec. 11, “with two women,” said our source. “He was acting VERY single, and Kate Hudson was definitely not there.”  Another insider confirms that Alex was with other women in Miami.  The source also said, “Kate and A-Rod broke up.”  Meanwhile, Kate was spotted dining at Pure Food and Wine in Manhattan on Friday night Dec. 11, where one spy said, “Kate was there with her son, Ryder, but spent the entire evening talking on her cell phone.” And Kate was “all smiles” while having brunch with friends at Prime Meats in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, Dec. 12.  Oh man, maybe she was a good luck charm for the Yankees.  I mean they did win the ring this year.

Adam Lambert has been invited to perform on ABC – a week after TV bosses canceled a string of his appearances in the wake of his controversial performance at the American Music Awards last month.  The openly gay star stunned viewers with his finale at the AMAs on 22 November 22 by groping his dancers onstage and kissing a male keyboard player, sparking more than 1,500 complaints.   The uproar prompted network executives to axe the American Idol runner-up’s promotional appearance on breakfast TV show Good Morning America just days later, and they pulled him from a further two spots on ABC shows last week.   But now campaigners from Gay & Lesbian Alliance against Defamation have praised the network for offering Lambert a chance to sing on The View on Thursday.   A spokesperson for GLAAD says, “ABC has taken a step towards fairness by inviting Adam Lambert to perform on The View. GLAAD has been advocating against the double standards that have been applied to Lambert as an openly gay performer. We thank community members and allies for voicing their concerns with ABC so that entertainers like Adam have the opportunity to be broadcast into living rooms across America.”   The slot will follow Lambert’s interview segment in Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009, set for broadcast on Wednesday.   Lambert has refused to apologize for his stunt, but recently admitted he “got caught up in the moment and maybe went a little too far.”  Gosh, when can we stop talking about this big Mary?

Singer-songwriter Alexa Ray Joel called 911 and told the operator she wanted to die after swallowing eight tablets of Traumeel, sources told the New York Post.   Traumeel is a homeopathic alternative to ibuprofen.   Joel, the 23-year-old daughter of rock ‘n’ roll icon Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley, reportedly was hospitalized in Manhattan after she took the pills Saturday. Her friends and family have said she was upset over a failed romance.   The Post said EMS workers received a message from the 911 dispatcher saying: “Female caller. Took eight pills. Wants to die. Now feels funny. Wants to live.”   A source told the newspaper Joel was discharged from the hospital Saturday night and spent Sunday with her parents.   One insider insisted Joel did not seriously intend to kill herself.   ”It was more like a cry for help,” the source said.  Um isn’t there any normal celebrity children left?

Weezer has reportedly canceled the remainder of their December Raditude Tour following a weather-related tour-bus crash that left lead singer Rivers Cuomo with three cracked ribs and internal damage in New York, a band spokesman said.  E! News reported the 40-year-old musician was injured when the bus crashed Sunday morning after hitting an ice patch.   Cuomo’s wife and 2-year-old daughter, who were riding with him, reportedly were not hurt.   However, Rivers’ assistant, Sarah Kim, fell out of the upper bunk of the bus, fracturing two ribs and lower vertebrae, E! News said. Rivers and Kim were transported to an upstate New York hospital where they are being treated for their injuries.  Oh man, I was planning on seeing them in a couple of weeks.

Taylor Swift scared off a high school bully by handing the phone to her bodyguard when he called her unexpectedly recently.  The “Love Story” singer still has no idea why the unnamed guy called her or how he got hold of her cellphone number, but she had great pleasure in listening to her burly New York minder terrify him.   Swift says, “He calls up my phone… and he’s like, ‘Is Taylor there?’ and I just handed it to my bodyguard and I was like, ‘John, give him a talking to.’   ”So he’s like, ‘Yo, you don’t ever call this number ever again. I put my fist through your face.’ It was really great, it was effective.”   Good for Taylor, she scares off everyone.

Football film “The Blind Side” tackled the top spot at North American box offices with $20.4 million in ticket sales for a rare climb up the charts in its third week, according to studio estimates on Sunday.   Vampire romance “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” dropped one place from last weekend to No. 2 with $15.7 million in ticket sales, and new release “Brothers,” about soldiers returning home from war, landed in third place with $9.7 million.   The rise of “The Blind Side” bucks the accepted Hollywood wisdom that a new film will claim the No. 1 spot in its first week, and then drop down the charts in subsequent weeks.   But “Blind Side,” starring Sandra Bullock in the feel-good movie based on a real-life story about a woman who takes a homeless boy and helps turn him into a football star, opened at No. 2 three weeks ago. Its cumulative ticket sales now stand at $129 million in the United States and Canada.   ”Blind Side” was released by Time Warner studio Warner Bros. and made by privately held Alcon Entertainment.   ”New Moon” pushed its North America ticket sales total to just over $255 million, and worldwide the movie has now raked in $570 million, according to tracker Hollywood.com Box Office. It was distributed by independent Summit Entertainment.   So is anyone else blindsided by the success of this movie?  Oh that was just too easy.

Hip-hop star Nelly has unveiled a new scholarship program to give impoverished students the chance to earn a college degree.  The “Ride Wit Me” hitmaker was joined onstage by R&B star Mario to make the announcement at his star-studded Black and White Ball in St Louis, Missouri on Sunday, which was attended by the likes of Jermaine Dupri and The Isley Brothers.   During the fourth annual show, Nelly announced he is sponsoring two students from the St. Louis area to receive a four-year scholarship at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.   And he used the ball as an opportunity to appeal for cash to boost the campaign, urging his guests to donate generously to the scholarship fund.  I am sorry but who is Nelly?

Eminem is gradually building up his circle of friends after reconnecting with old pals he ditched when he became addicted to drugs.  The “Stan” hitmaker, real name Marshall Mathers III, struggled for years with an addiction to painkillers and anti-depressants – popping as many as 20 pills a day at the height of his problems, and nearly losing his life after an accidental methadone overdose.   He has been sober for more than 18 months and he’s slowly getting back in touch with acquaintances from his past to make amends for cutting them out of his once drug-riddled life.   Eminem tells Complex magazine, “I’ve gone back and rekindled some old friendships – people I knew from back in the day. I feel like I’m closer with everybody now, certainly – probably a lot easier to get along with, too.”   And the hip-hop star insists he’s back in top form, having shed the excess weight he gained while he was on prescription drugs.   He adds, “I feel better. I feel like a human being again. There was one point in time where I felt like… plastic. I think I looked plastic. My face, fat plastic! I was eating, but the Vicodin made me hungry because it eats up your stomach lining, so you want to fill your stomach back up, but then it stops you up so you can’t s**t.   ”That’s why I was gaining so much weight, I was just so f**king bloated. It’s a trip when people take sobriety for granted. Feeling trapped in my addiction and then getting sober – you appreciate it so much more, because I didn’t know if I would ever know what it’s like to feel normal again, ever.”  Well maybe that was why his raps were so angry.  Because he could not doodie.

Andrew McCarthy, the star of some of the most iconic teen movies of the ’80s is getting back to his roots by taking on the CW’s sexy drama, Gossip Girl.  McCarthy, who will direct an episode set to air in the spring, says the show’s young stars are different than the ones who came to be known as the Brat Pack. “They are much more savvy than we were,” McCarthy tells PEOPLE of Gossip Girl’s cast. “We were just a bunch of dumb kids running around.”  Rock on.  I am glad he is doing better than Anthony Michael Hall as of late.

After playing pregnant in this summer’s Away We Go, Maya Rudolph has welcomed a real-life bundle of joy: her second child with director Paul Thomas Anderson.   The couple’s daughter, Lucille, was born Nov. 6 in Los Angeles, the Saturday Night Live alum’s rep tells Yahoo exclusively.   Lucille joins big sister Pearl, 4. As with their first child, Rudolph and Anderson, 39, chose not to find out the sex of the baby prior to delivery.  I really like the name Lucille.

And finally, yes, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” really hate each other that much.  And the name-calling and threats that don’t make it on Bravo’s hit reality program are sometimes worse than what airs, according to a recently filed police report and court records.  The TV drama spilled over Thursday into a municipal courtroom as bad girl Danielle Staub recounted before Judge Lawrence Katz a fight last month at the North Jersey Country Club where the teenage daughter of a castmate allegedly pulled out one of her hair extensions —  roots and all.  Staub was initially summoned to the court after signing complaints against two of her castmates — Teresa Giudice, of Montville, and Jacqueline Laurita, of Franklin Lakes —  and also against Laurita’s 19-year-old daughter Ashley Holmes, who also lives in Franklin Lakes.  I swear, you can  not write this stuff up.  I can not wait for the new season to start to watch the shizznit hit the fan.
